Additional Resources

What is the difference between "Desk Arms" and "Full Arms"?

Desk Length Arms are shorter in the front, allowing you to roll closer to a table or desk without the armrests hitting the edge. Full Length Arms extend further forward and provide more surface area to lean on or push off from when standing up. Both styles on the Sentra EC are detachable for easier side transfers.

How does the "Hemi-Level" seat height work?

The Sentra EC features a dual axle, which means the rear wheels can be mounted in two different positions. In the standard position, the seat height is 19.5 inches. By moving the axle to the hemi position, the seat height lowers to 17.5 inches, which is ideal for users who prefer to propel the chair using their feet.

Is this wheelchair easy to clean?

Yes. The double-embossed vinyl upholstery is specifically chosen for bariatric use because it is resistant to tearing and can be quickly wiped down with standard disinfectants. The chrome frame is also chip-proof, preventing rust and making it easy to maintain over time.

What are "Elevating Leg Rests" and do I need them?

Elevating Leg Rests (ELR) allow you to raise your legs to a straight position, which is often recommended to help reduce swelling (edema) or for specific post-surgical recoveries. If you don't need elevation, the Swing-Away Footrests are lighter and make it easier to get in and out of the chair.

Can I fold this wheelchair for transport?

Yes. Despite its heavy-duty construction, the Sentra EC folds to a compact 12.5-inch width. To fold it, you simply pull up on the center of the seat. This makes it possible to store in a closet or transport in the trunk of most larger vehicles.

Do the front wheels adjust?

The 8-inch front casters are adjustable in three different positions. This allow you to fine-tune the "tilt" or height of the front of the chair to ensure it remains level and stable, especially when you are changing the rear axle height to the hemi-level.

You’re right — here’s the corrected version without adding a name: I had an outstanding experience at Copper Star. The gentleman who helped me was efficient, knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. He did everything in his power to make sure I understood all of my options, and I never felt rushed or pressured. I originally came in to purchase a wheeled walker, but I also had questions about hospital beds for home use, bathroom safety devices, mobility assistance, and several other items I had not even thought about yet. He was incredibly helpful with pricing, and his knowledge of insurance made the entire process much easier to understand. I am extremely pleased with my decision to go the distance to this company because they go the distance. I live near Thomas and I-17, so it was not exactly around the corner, but the distance traveled was absolutely worth the time and effort. Copper Star Medical clearly cares about helping people, and I will definitely come back again.

What I like about Copper Star is they have the items in stock and you can look at them rather than squinting at an image on Amazon wondering if it's a cheap knock-off.

Visited this location on Saturday 6/13 at 1pm because Mayo Supply store is closed on Saturdays???!!! The young man who helped me was super helpful and friendly! He is a great asset to the location. The website says they close at 1pm but there’s a sign on the door advising of their new hours (thankfully) til 3pm. Ample supplies and plenty of new items I had not heard of. Prices are good! I recommend this location.

My husband and I planned a trip to Phoenix for our granddaughters graduation from ASU’S Law School. We are both handicap and needed a walker and wheelchair. I looked on the internet for a medical store with good reviews and saw Copper Star Home Medical Supplies. I gave them a call, they had what I needed, I ordered them for the week. They had them ready for our granddaughter to pickup on the day we arrived in Phoenix. Copper Star made it easy for us!!! They are very nice people.
